The general director of Youth, Francisco Sanchez, today presented the youth card to 26 students in the school Nuestra Señora del Carmen La Union, who this Friday, March 11, will travel to Strasbourg to meet the seat of the European Parliament and participate with students of the other 27 member countries of the European Union on a day which they will become MEPs for a day.

The unionense school has been selected by the European Parliament Office in Spain in recognition not only to work done during the last year, but also the history of participation in the 'Euroscola' educational program.

This contest is aimed at teachers and students of the ESO (3rd and 4th), Baccalaureate and Training Cycles Intermediate Spain.

The director of Youth stressed that the 'Euroscola' contest like many promoted by the Ministry of Culture and Spokesman programs, "aims to promote youth mobility, language practice and meeting with students from other countries and other cultures with whom to exchange experiences and opinions. "

Francisco Sanchez said the youth card will allow them to enjoy many benefits and discounts on various services in the Community of Murcia, as well as in the rest of Spain and in more than forty European countries adhering to this initiative.

This card is a document of personal and not transferable offering young people between 14 and 30 years the opportunity to enjoy discounts on activities and services, both in buying and purchasing products and access to cultural goods and services and young (transport, cinemas, travel, accommodation, museums, concerts and sports facilities, etc.) tourism.

This program is developed in conjunction with the other autonomous communities and more than forty countries of the European environment comprising the European Youth Card Association (EYCA).

In the region, the youth card is managed by the Department of Youth, in collaboration with the BMN-CajaMurcia and La Caixa.
