The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, through the Directorate General of Planning, Architecture and Housing, working to develop the Union an area of ​​Regeneration and Urban Renewal (ARRU) within the municipality of the town, which will enable him access support for improving the city center.
The Director General of Planning, Architecture and Housing, Nuria Fuentes, met with the mayor of La Union, Pedro Lopez, to define the area for priority action in the town, where the rehabilitation activities will be financed to improve its residential tissues and also promote energy efficiency and accessibility to buildings.
Sources reported that the Ministry has sent the draft to the Ministry of Development to move forward in dealing with this area, which, if approved, will be funded from the Plan for the promotion of rental housing, edificatoria rehabilitation and regeneration and renewal urban of 2013-2016, which gives the regional government aid.
The director general said that the regional government "wants to promote this type of housing improvements they need in La Union, for which we are working with the city, and also to establish the amount necessary to realize this action".
"This project is a great opportunity for the Union, and that citizens could access financial assistance of up to 11,000 euros to rehabilitate their buildings, by performing maintenance work on fixtures, equipment proper and common elements," noted the director general.
