Five residents of La Union, AGM, JFRA, RCL, RGM, and the lowest JJVR, were arrested yesterday at 17:00 hours by local police on suspicion of a crime against historical and cultural heritage.
About 16:50 hours, local police patrol observed several individuals who were in the Fawn Mine, mine headframe which is declared of Cultural Interest.
The officers found that two of the youths had a cart loaded with different material from the mine.
Also, inside, three others were cutting the structure of the tower.
The agents involved are different tools that were used to dismantle the mine headframe (a mechanical jack hammer, chisel, templates, etc.).
The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, congratulated the local police for "the magnificent performance of our agents who, in this case and previous, are preventing the plundering of our cultural and historical heritage."
The five detainees, along with the tools intervened, were taken to Civil Guard barracks where four of them became available magistrate Cartagena Guard, and one of them available to the Juvenile Prosecutor Murcia.
