The town of La Union yesterday protagonist in Caravaca de la Cruz, a city which this year celebrates the Year of Jubilee.
A total of 500 unionenses, between pilgrims and residents displaced by buses and private cars took part in the events held.
The day began with a reception in the city of Caravaca de la Cruz, by the local corporation to the first mayor of La Unión, Bernabe Francisco and other members of the municipal government team.
Later, the delegation unionense departed from the Church of El Salvador, where they starts the last part of pilgrims walked to the esplanade of the Shrine of the Cross, where he celebrated Mass in honor Minera Santisima y Vera Cruz with the presence of the singer Encarnación Fernández, winner of two miners lamps Festival del Cante de Las Minas in 1979 and 1980.
The Mass Mining, headed by the pastor of the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of La Union, Luis Miguel García, and concelebrated by ten priests, was attended by about 3,000 faithful.
Similarly, the people of La Union paid tribute to Vera Cruz through the offering of a hammer, carbide, and mineral peak by four miners Sierra unionenses.

So, Big Brother, Jose Luis Castillo, gave the Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, a commemorative medal of the Holy Year 2010, while the Brotherhood received at the hands of Barnabas a reproduction poster of the Golden Jubilee Festival Internacional del Cante de las Miners, Caravaca de la Cruz to the Holy Year 2010 is one of its partners.
After the mass, Francisco Bernabé signed on behalf of the Union and the Festival del Cante de Las Minas in the book of honor of the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy and Vera Cruz de Caravaca.
Also, Big Brother, Jose Luis Castillo, gave the mining town with a shield in marble of the Brotherhood.
Recall that a group of people from La Union yesterday ended his pilgrimage to Caravaca (145 km), which has developed in two ways: on foot, from 9 to 13 June, and cycling (12 and 13 June).
