The deputy of the Socialist Parliamentary Group Carmina Fernández has ensured that the commitment of the Government of Spain with the regeneration of the Bay of Portmán is maintained with all its firmness, and that there is a fluid and constant communication with the Autonomous Community, the City Council of La Unión and neighborhood representations. "This commitment must be developed, as it cannot be otherwise, complying with the legality and environmental guarantees that a project of this magnitude requires," he said. In this sense, it has indicated that any modification or change that the law and the security guarantees require, will be made with the consensus of the institutions and groups affected. For her part, the socialist senator Lourdes Retuerto has said that Francisco Bernabé must stop generating problems and sow doubts and uncertainties, and provide solutions.

"In the case of La Unión, it should be more interested in the project coming to fruition, than in opposing the Government of Spain. "It seems that for him the interest of his party is more important than that of his neighbors.

As Bernabé well knows, the stoppage of the works is due to the cancellation by the National Court of the award of the work," he explained. Retuerto has indicated that, once the pending legal proceedings have been resolved and the existing problems have been analyzed, the appropriate solution will be adopted regarding the continuity of the works.
