| "We are not going to tolerate the failure of the PSOE to leave Portmán without a future" | Yesterday afternoon we learned of the result of the meeting of the monitoring committee for the regeneration works in the Portmán bay.
To our surprise, the Pedro Sánchez government proposed as an alternative to the current project that the bay remain as it is, that is, that it not regenerate. This situation deserves our strongest rejection, as it seems despicable to us.
The same consideration is deserved by the fact that the mayor of La Unión, Pedro López Milán, far from opposing this proposal outright, merely agreed meekly and promised to "study it with the neighbors."From the Popular Party of La Unión we want to state that if that is going to be the attitude of the mayor from now on in relation to regeneration, which we have been waiting for 30 years, not only will he not be able to count on our support, but he will count on our most energetic opposition.
This proposal was already rejected in 2011 by the government of the socialist party when the project and the environmental impact statement were drafted, which paralyzed a year ago.We are not talking about any work, we are talking about the worst environmental disaster in the history of the Mediterranean.
Therefore, we will not tolerate the inability of the PSOE to leave Portmán without a future, since it is a particularly isolated population, without any outstanding productive sector, so its future depends on all the wealth that its regenerated bay can generate.
, with its marina and the rest of urban development, as well as tourism.
