The Monitoring Commission for the recovery and environmental adaptation of the Portman Bay, included in the Agreement signed by the Ministry of Environment, the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia and the City Council of La Unión, in January 2006, has It was convened by the current Ministry for Ecological Transition and the demographic challenge for March 25 at 1:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the Government Delegation in Murcia.
Following the request of the Mayor of La Unión, Pedro López Milan, to those responsible for the Ministry for the Ecological Transition of the Government of Spain and to the newly appointed Delegate of the Government in Murcia, José Vélez, this morning a communication was received from the Secretariat of the State of the Environment, convening the Monitoring Commission for the month of March.
In this Commission will be present both the policy makers of the different Administrations and neighborhood representatives.
As stated in point 2 of the call, a report will be presented on the current situation of the Environmental Regeneration and Recovery project of the Portmán Bay.
The Mayor, who has been in continuous communication with the top officials of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, in addition to requesting the completion of said Commission to inform the neighbors, has also demanded enough speed and budget to face a project that already has many years started and you can't stand for another second.
In addition, he has communicated his total opposition to the construction of the Macropuerto in Gorguel, as he has always said, since it is completely incompatible with the environmental regeneration of the Portmán Bay.
