On Saturday, June 8, the Patio del Mesón "Melón de Oro" by Lo Ferro flamenco beat again to the rhythm of the seven artists who sought their place in the semifinal of the cante contest of the XL edition of the ferreño festival.
Five of them known by the public, and two, debutants in the always difficult square of Lo Ferro.
Along with the magical, subtle and accurate touch of Antonio Fernández "El Torero", cante flew very high in a tough second selective test that featured high-level artists.
The night began in the shelter of the Cordovan Mª Lucía Borreguero Leiva, from Córdoba, who offered milonga, ferreña and soleá in her repertoire.
After her, it was the turn of the young voice of Judit Alférez, from Almería, to take us to cantiñas, malagueñas and soleá.
The evening was already warm thanks to two of the three female voices of the night, when, for the first time in the patio, the metal of the Sevillian Armando Mateos sang with his cante por granaína y media, soleá and bulerías.
José Antonio Romero Pérez, from Cádiz, was the next gorge to be emptied by alegrías, ferreña and soleá de Triana.
The Jerez-born Inma Ortiz, third woman at the helm and another one of the debutantes in the Lo Ferro contest, started with guajira, ferreña with its own letter and the joys of the little mermaid, also with a personal letter.
The evening was closed by Antonio Gómez Buendía, from Badajoz, with alegrías, milonga and seguiriyas.
Almost four hours of art in a night of which they create a hobby in Lo Ferro for the delivery and the high level exhibited.
