On Sunday, February 24, the joint Assembly between Izquierda Unida and Podemos ratified the list with which they will be presented as an electoral coalition in the upcoming municipal elections, thus consolidating a collaborative work that began for the 2016 general elections.
Both organizations, after carrying out their internal primary processes, have elected Sergio Alcina, professor of sociology at the University of Murcia as candidate for mayor of La Unión;
followed by Juana Celdrán, adult education teacher, and Joaquín Norte, activist and mechanic by profession.
The progressive formations, which are presented in a coalition under the name of United: Podemos - Izquierda Unida, now begin a round of meetings with local associations and social organizations with which they intend to draw up a program that puts at the center of the debate the real problems of all the unionenses.
