This year, two first prizes were established in the Desplante category.
The Foundation Cante de las Minas, has published the bases corresponding to the selective tests for the contest of the 58th edition of the International Festival that will take place from 1 to 11 August in the Old Public Market of La Union.
Until May 15, those interested can register in the modalities of singing, guitar and dance.
Until June 15 will be for the category of flamenco players and until July 15 for the international cultural event in any of its modalities.
In the last edition, the number of registered for the performance of the selective tests, as is usual in this Festival, reached 200 applications, of which twenty-five passed to the contest phase that this year will be held from 8 to 11 of August.
The Festival will hold the selection tests in different Spanish cities during the months of June and July.
In this 58th edition, the selective tests travel to Álora, the cradle of the malagueña.
In addition, the municipality of La Union will continue to play an important role in the reception of applicants since selective tests will be carried out in the Roche and Portman districts.
The rest of the cities are practically the same as in previous editions: Valladolid, Madrid, Sagunto (Castellón), Albacete, Torrevieja (Alicante), Viator (Almería), Granada, Álora (Málaga), Extremadura, Vera (Almería), Roche and Portmán (The Union).
The International Festival of Cante de las Minas seeks the best flamenco artists, from here came names such as Antonio Piñana, Pitingo, Mayte Martín, Pencho Cros, Miguel Poveda, Rocío Márquez, El Cigala, Vicente Amigo, which this year returns to The Union in the flamenco galas, some of them won the prestigious prizes of the Lamp Minera, Bordón, Desplante y Filón.
The Cante de las Minas Foundation includes this year as a novelty, two first Desplante prizes in which the sobriety of male dance and the elegance and plasticity of female dance will be valued.
In the last edition were awarded with the Mining Lamp the malagueño cantaor Alfredo Tejada, trophy Desplante for the Jerez dancer Fernando Jiménez, Filón prize for the Cordovan Sergio de Lope and the Bordón minero for the guitarist from Alicante Alejandro Hurtado.
