The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, Councillor for Sports, Julio Garcia, and the Director General of Sports, Antonio Peñalver, presided the opening of the refurbishment and upgrading of sports center and its indoor arena, whose total cost amounted to 130,000 euros.
The Mayor of La Unión, Bernabe Francisco, said "the undoubted benefits of these works for all users of the sports center."
In addition, Barnabas announced future investments in other facilities amounting to 145,000 euros, intended to build two paddle courts and to convert the old outdoor courts in three new tennis courts with artificial turf.
Work on the Sports have focused on various aspects.
The main facade of the building has been remodeled featuring a remarkable aesthetic improvement.
Moreover, in the arena outside the surface has been replaced earlier by a higher quality.
Similarly, there has been improvement works in the stands Annex.
In addition, the field of artificial turf soccer 7 has also been an important performance by providing it with light.
This will allow greater use and development of this facility.
It also has prepared the ground outside and remodeled locker rooms.
Finally, we have installed an area for spectators.
Investment of the Ministry of Culture in these works has reached 90,000 euros.
COVERED PAVILION
In the pavilion of the Sports Centre has carried out comprehensive rehabilitation of the roof of the enclosure and replace the previous track by a new high quality surface that will allow the sport in the best condition possible.
It has also been painted the stands of the enclosure and walls of the pavilion, which greatly improves the visual impact that had so far this installation.
The work covered pavilion conditioning involves an investment of 40,000 euros for the Presidential and Public Administrations of the Autonomous Community.
