Bright start of the events of 150 years (01/01/2010)

The Union is in luck.

Today, January 1, 2010, the municipality has completed 150 years of existence, it was exactly 150 years ago, on January 1, 1860, when it was formally established with the name "Villa de El Garbanzal", having segregated Cartagena day before the towns of El Garbanzal, Blacksmith, Portman and Roche.

Eight years later, in 1868, was when he changed his name and finally adopted the name "Union."

For this reason, and last night welcomed the anniversary as the occasion deserved.

Hundreds of people gathered at the Plaza Joaquín Costa to hear the chimes of the clock in the Old Public Market, which followed a stunning fireworks display on the facade of the building and a fireworks display later.

The event even attracted the attention of La 7, which aired live for the Region of Murcia.

The ceremony followed in the morning, with the holding of a series of events in the neighborhood of El Garbanzal, it was in the house of the parish priest of the place where he first seat of the Consistory.
