The autonomous community built on a large Central Union for Child Care with capacity for 188 seats (10/09/2009)

The Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration will provide 500,000 euros to 905,816 of the total investment amount of the first phase of the new Center for Child Care to be built in La Union, and whose works the regional head of the department, Joaquin Bascuñana, placed the first stone at noon, accompanied by Director General of Family and Children, Laura Muñoz, and the mayor of La Union, Francisco Martín Barnabas.

The remaining amount of 450,816 euros, corresponds to the Council.

The first phase project will create 94 places for children under three years and their duration ends on December 15, 2010.

The second phase, from that date, will enable the commissioning of many other places, so that a total of 188 available.

The works in this first phase began in July and are currently in a period of foundation.

The building will have 12 classrooms, two of which are for babies from four months to one year (16 seats), four children from one to two years (52 seats) and six children from two to three years (120 places) .

In addition, the center will have a playground, kitchen and multipurpose room.

This new CAI, located in the neighborhood of the Garbanzal, replace the one currently in the neighborhood of Santa Barbara and is open eleven months of the year from 8:30 to 16:30.

It is envisaged that work in it four and ten professional graduate Teaching in Early Childhood Education and a psychologist and an educator.

The investment made by the Autonomous Community of La Union centers during 2006-2009 amounted to 1,257,321 euros, which has led to the creation of 262 subsidized spaces spread over four locations.

Two of them are already in operation, with a total of 54 seats, and before Christmas is expected to launch the Child Care Point (IAP), in the parish of Roche.

The performances in the town unionense began in 2006 with the remodeling of the Santa Barbara Municipal Nursery School, which involved having 40 new seats and new construction at Portman PAI, with capacity for 16 children.

In 2007 he began building the new EPI Roche, which will cater for 18 children and is almost completed and, for the years 2008 and 2009, has been the project of the CAI of the Garbanzal.
