After the proclamation of Fernando Sanchez Drago festival-goers on the second night of La Unión (Murcia), the forty-ninth edition of Cante de las Minas to be held from 5 to 15 August, starts to force his annual bet celebration and joy of pure flamenco.
A purity that remains intact in the contests.
The protagonists of luxury Galas are Niña Pastori, Carlos Piñana, Archangel, Guillermo Cano, Mariana Cornejo, Capullo de Jerez, Rafael Amargo, Argentina and Vicente Amigo.
They will precede the performances of thirty contestants chosen from more than a hundred that was submitted to the selection tests in the preceding months.
Here in the four competitions: singing, guitar, dance and instrumentalists, is the essence and rationale of flamenco event that will meet next fifty years, edition 2010.
A high culture full of conferences and exhibitions, as well as outdoor performances on the popular late nights, along with the steps of the Cathedral of Cante, form a magical hardly comparable.

An atypical Festival of La Union under the Sierra Mining, visited the mines, its archeology and quarrying and a "duende flamenco-mining" that gracefully walks the streets of a city that was only one hundred years as an American western town, or stops at a tavern and sing a song by "mining" relieved with red wine.
Mine and mining town today, and in other economic necessities, still retains all its splendor modernist and a profound respect to the huge religious and cultural wealth inherited from their elders, who also pays tribute to these dates.
The International Festival of Cante de las Minas is definitely a different summer bet astounding, especially the flamenco purists but, like it or not singing, leaves no one indifferent.
