Start the Festival del Cante de las Minas (04/08/2009)

Like every year, and for eleven days, the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas de La Union capitalizes on the cultural offer of the Region of Murcia.

La Catedral del Cante hosts from tomorrow, Wednesday through Saturday August 15 at the main figures of flamenco, as well as young talents who aspire to gain a foothold in the flamenco star and know that The Union is the essential springboard.

The Festival presents an important novelty of the introduction of a fourth major award, which is called The Reef.

This new prize is worth 7,000 euros.

The instrument is added to the traditional singing competitions, dance and guitar, which saw a record registered 127 participants, divided into 14 test basis and held during the preceding months throughout the Spanish geography.

FLAMINGO AVENUE

This edition of the Festival will be the final consolidation of the Avenida del Flamenco.

This is an authentic flamenco boulevard which will accommodate photographic exhibitions, souvenir shops and mining supplies, etc.
