The Fair XIII Minerals & Fossils of the Union has grown from 9 to 11 April in the Old Public Market, with a very large public presence, as they have reached 9,000 visitors.
At the closing ceremony attended by the First Deputy Mayor, Carlos Martinez, and Councillors of Tourism, Trade and Finance, Antonio Liarte, Juana Sánchez and María Dolores Barrett, respectively, who have awarded the prizes of the Fair.
The list of prizewinners is as follows:
Best decorated booth: Emilio Tomico of Alicante.
Best mineral mountains: Blue Barite Francisco Picazo de Elche.
Best exposed mineral: Quartz with Rutile flowers Jose Manuel Jurado de Barcelona.
Fair, dedicated to the exhibition and sale of minerals and fossils, has had 35 exhibitors from La Union and Cartagena, as well as Alicante, Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, Navarra, Almeria and Galicia.
Minerals have been shown the Sierra Minera, as well as other areas of the country.
Have also been exposed minerals and fossils from various parts of Europe.
The XIII Mineral and Fossil Fair is organized by the Federation of Business and Professional Union, in collaboration with the Hon.
City of La Union and the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research and the Cartagena Chamber of Commerce, among others.
