The Ombudsman for the Region of Murcia, José Pablo Ruiz Abellán, has visited this morning the city of La Union, where he was welcomed by the Mayor of the town, Francisco Bernabé.
The meeting served to the Mayor request the Ombudsman in the Region of Murcia, José Pablo Ruiz Abellán, support the City of La Union and its neighbors in the regeneration of the Portman Bay, historical claim the mining town and in particular of that coastal town, in case you do not leave a firm commitment from the beginning of the regeneration works at the meeting of the Monitoring Committee to be held next Wednesday.
The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, has expressed his gratitude for "the sensitivity shown by the Ombudsman to one of the major concerns of the citizens of the Union: the regeneration of the Portman Bay."
For its part, the Ombudsman of the Region of Murcia, José Pablo Ruiz Abellán has expressed its intention to "ensure respect for the rights of unionenses, as well as all citizens of the Region", revealing that already have been "a total of 90 complaints and inquiries from citizens of the region in just over a month of operation of the Office."
Ruiz Abellán has stated that the "Institution of Ombudsman in the Murcia region is defined by its proximity and service to the citizens of the region."
In another vein, soon will go down an agreement between the City of La Union and the Office of the Ombudsman in the Region of Murcia, for citizens of the Union handled inquiries and complaints to the latter through the registry institution input, the single and the Office of Consumer Affairs of the City of La Union.
In addition, José Pablo Ruiz Abellán has revealed that it is working with the Office of the State Ombudsman to reach a cooperation agreement between the two institutions to coordinate their actions.

The Ombudsman for the Region of Murcia's main functions ensure the protection and defense of the rights and freedoms of citizens and the freedoms enshrined in the Constitution and the Statute of Autonomy.
At the same time be responsible for supervising the conduct of government, its agencies, organizations, companies and public authorities and it is responsible staff or are assigned to a public service, as well as the municipalities of the Region, and any other administration offices in the territory of the Autonomous Community.
