Development and the City of La Union work together for the integral development of Portman Bay and its surroundings (03/11/2015)

The Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, through the General Directorates of Transport and Ports and Coasts of Planning, Architecture and Housing and the City of La Union will work in a coordinated and joint for the integral development of Portman Bay and its environment.

Francisco Bernabé, after a meeting with the mayor of La Union, Pedro Lopez, said "whether to initiate immediate cooperation to push through projects that come from the hand of the works of regeneration and environmental soundness of the bay."

Specifically, the new port of Portman Bay will invest 48.3 million euros and will have a total area of ​​39,000 square meters berth, which will include 171 berths of the fishing pier and traditional uses.

In the central pier of the yacht club buildings, restaurants, shops and parking area will be located;

The regional manager of Development also informed the mayor of La Union on the current status of processing of the project, in order to establish the necessary coordination ties between the two administrations to allow its bid.

It was also discussed the further urban development to be held in the vicinity of the bay of Portman, and be guided by "a few concepts of coherent and sustainable tourism development, from the point of view of the environment and of high quality tourism, "said Barnabas.
