Continuing acts of the 155th anniversary of the Union (23/04/2015)

The Hall of Pinion House last night hosted the second day of the acts of the program to celebrate the 155th anniversary of our town.

He began the ceremony with fantastic conference on our most universal art, Flamenco, by Francisco José Paredes, prestigious flamenco expert, thorough researcher, passionate writer and lecturer, defender of our traditions, our history and knowledgeable as few the lives and adventures of the great names of Flamenco.

He then proceeded to Institutional Ceremony of Silver Medals Local Merit associations and organizations that have been operating in the town, contributing to the growth and consolidation of the Union as the city Mining and Flemish, which is today.

Thus, received the Association of Women of La Union Medal, for his lifelong contribution to the integral development of women, within the municipality of La Union;

the Nautical Club of Portman, for his out-standing efforts to promote the sport, which contributes a national benchmark and landmark emblem of the seafaring tradition of our land;

the Coral Argentum, for the brilliant artistic and musical culture promotion path, which is a unique referent;

Finally, the Cultural Association "The Lamp" Portman, for his brilliant promotion of sports activities, educational and recreational nature, with special emphasis on those related to the sea and its environment, as well as its collaboration with various entities for the general good.

Another special moment was when delivering the Bronze Medal was made to Local Merit, awarded to the National Fair of Minerals and Fossils, continuously promoting the values ​​of our Sierra Minera and activity that has sealed the History of The Union innovative example of economic and cultural role.

Finishing the night, our Mayor, Julio García, delivered the Custom Honor of the City of La Union to the Rondalla and Chorus Home for the Elderly in La Union, for his brilliant career and promotion of musical culture, as an outstanding combination of the values ​​of the group of the Third Age.

I also wanted to congratulate each of the entities and encouraged them to continue their work.

The second day ended in a big way, with the participation of the singer Encarnación Fernández, twice winner of the Mining Lamp Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas in 1979 and 1980. He was accompanied to touch the equally exceptional Antonio Muñoz, guitar our official Festival.
