It took place in the House of Pinon, an act of donation to the Municipal Archives that our Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, received from Ana Maria Soto Barrionuevo, granddaughter of the former mayor of La Union from 1944-1961, Francisco Barrionuevo.
The donation consisted of various documents and publications pertaining to the work and family in this file and it was his wife, Isabel Peñalver, last tenant of the House Pinion, current Town Hall.
During the ceremony also attended by the Councillor for Culture, Julio Garcia, the municipal official archivist and chronicler of La Union, Francisco José Ródenas, and Ana Maria Barrionuevo Peñalver, a daughter of the late mayor.
Ana Maria Soto Barrionuevo has delivered numerous documents relating to the activity of Francisco Barrionuevo as mayor and deputy provincial, institutional photos, documents relating to his work as a practitioner of Mines and some books and dedicated first edition of authors like Asensio Sáez or Cegarra María Salcedo.
To this end, Francisco Bernabé and granddaughter Barrionuevo, have signed Grant Act under which all delivered become the property of the City of La Union and is available to all unionenses, why our Mayor want to publicly thank all the family this gesture of generosity for the municipality.
