Nine artists will compete in the final of the 54 International Festival del Cante de las Minas (16/08/2014)

Among the 17 awards will be distributed on Saturday include Mining Lamp, Miner's Refrain, the Desplante and Philo |

After three days of semifinals which involved a total of 28 contestants on Saturday, August 16, the Cathedral of Cante will become the stage where nine artists compete for Mining Lamp in the form of singing, Mining for Bordon guitarist for the Desplante dancer, and Philo in flamenco mode instrumentalist.

In total participated in the semifinals 28 artists: four Flemish musicians, three guitarists six dancers and singers fifteen.

Among the finalists are 4 singers: Sebastián Cruz Marquez, Miguel Montero Martin "Miguel de La Tolea" Lagos David Aguilar and María José Pérez Rodríguez.

Two dancers: Juan Antonio Fernández Montoya "Barullo" Yolanda Osuna and Linares.

Two flamingos instrumentalists Gautama Campo Moreno and Antonio Peñalver Saenz.

As guitarist José Tomás Jiménez Villalta.

This year, the jury make it as president, Blanca Avila Molina, "White King" dancer and choreographer Cordoba, "National Flamenco Award";

José Manuel Gamboa, writer, lecturer and flamingo stirrer;

Ramón Díaz Soler, Flemish researcher and author of several books on the subject;

Pujante Antonio Parra, writer, journalist and flamenco;

and Joseph Cros Zaplana, an expert on mining songs and son of the great Pencho Cros, three times winner of the Mining Lamp this festival.

The secretary of the Jury is Antonio Gomez Perez, professor of Literature in Secondary Education, also a great lover of flamenco.

The Festival provides for the delivery of a total of 17 awards, divided into each of the four modes.

Specifically, to sing, the highest award is the "Mining Lamp", which will be better for those who run the mining and at least one or more other styles of mining songs, good group of Malaga, Granada, Cordoba and Huelva, or good, bajoandaluces Cantes.

The "Mining Lamp" has a cash prize of 15,000 euros.

Prizes for each of the mining songs are also distributed, ie mining prize, that of tarantas that of Cartagena and Murcia and in other mining songs (tarantos, levantica, miners fandango ...).

A second group are the awards for the songs of Malaga, Granada, Cordoba and Huelva, comprising the awards and the award malagueñas other songs (granaínas, fandango of Granada, Huelva and Lucena, verdiales, rondeñas, jaberas, jabegotes ).

Another group is comprised of the Bajoandaluces Cantes including the award for Tonás, siguiriyas, light and highland, the award for Soleares, bulerías soleá, rods and poles, and the prize bulerías cantiñas, tangos, thongs, peteneras , farrucas, personal fandango.

It is also a special prize for young singers (under 25 years).

In Guitar mode, two awards will be distributed, the first who takes up the trophy "Bordon Miner" worth 6,000 euros.

As for the dancing, there will be two awards, the first of which the "uprooting" of 9,000 euros cash prize.

Finally, in the form of Flamenco instrumentalist, two awards will be handed out, and the first place winner will get known as "reef", with another 6,000 euros.
