Start the "I Flamenco workshop for melodic instruments" and the course "History of Flamenco" (11/08/2014)

The Deputy Mayor of Culture and Director of the International Festival del Cante de las Minas, Julio Garcia, presided this afternoon's inaugural "First Seminar for Melodic Instruments Flamenco" directed by musician and composer Oscar Manuel, and the course "History Flamenco, "which teaches journalist Juan Vergillos and flamenco.

Opens thus a new chapter of the work that the Foundation Cante de las Minas done to bring, disseminate and promote flamenco in all spheres of society.

It has been in the Cultural Center where Asensio Sáez has begun "I Seminar for Melodic Instruments Flamenco".

Organized by the Cante de las Minas Foundation in collaboration with the International Flamencology UCAM, and directed by musician and composer Oscar Manuel, winner of the International Festival del Cante de las Minas in 2012 Philo Award during the training cycle different styles or "styles of Flamenco" as bulerías, tangos, fandango or joys be known.

The teacher explained that the objective is to provide an approach to flamenco by musicians who only play classical music pieces, based on the assimilation rhythm, collective interpretation of representative fragment, initiation and improvisation and interpretation of flamenco in each of their styles.

The Cadiz 'Oscar Manuel', began his studies at the Conservatoire de Torrente, Valencia, at the early age of six.

He was completing his training with the Intermediate title, as well as further studies and applications to the flute.

A long list of courses and master classes continue honing his musical training, such as' Flamenco Master Class, taught by the flutist and composer Joaquín Cortés, Juan Parrilla;

or under classes Flemish composer and flautist Domingo Patricio in the School of Music of Barcelona and Valencia, Jorge Pardo, including many academic routes.

With all this, Oscar Manuel has accumulated several awards such as Honorary Mention of Musical Societies and Alacuas Museros for his work on the integration of Flamenco Arts in Classical Music, and the nomination at the awards Tirant Best Soundtrack of 'La Celestina', Alvaro Olavaria.

His most famous work is called 'Tears of salt', an innovative and experimental show, written by himself.

In this work, blends flamenco with classical music (ready to accommodate both symphony orchestra or symphonic band and chamber), a work dedicated, fully, to the union of cultures and promotion of flamenco in other doctrines.

Ten Flemish artists interact with classical musicians, giving way to a new form of language and interpretation.

And at 17:30 am in the City of La Union, has started the course "History of Flamenco" by the journalist, researcher and flamenco, Juan Vergillos.

At the opening of this course, the Director of the International Festival del Cante de las Minas and Deputy Mayor of Culture, Julio Garcia, has encouraged the twenty students present to "enjoy and learn" the lessons taught by Vergillos who, says "is part of the Festival, a great researcher and learn that just by having a talk with him."

A close relationship with the festival has been a member of the jury.

Thus, Juan Vergillos wishes to establish an open forum where each registered their concerns and propose to establish points of discussion on specific periods of the 200-year history of flamenco.

Besides, it has made clear that this course is a different view of the "official" version of the theorists of flamenco.

Hypotheses that the researcher has come as a result of his investigations through objective data.

The Journalist and flamenco has published novels, essays, informative books, stories, poems and lyrics.

He has written and directed dance and flamenco.

He has directed flamenco festivals and other performing arts.

He has given lectures, workshops and performances in theaters, festivals, schools and universities in Europe and America.

Both courses will be closed on the afternoon of Friday 15 with Diplomas ceremony for the Wizards.
