After gaining their trust pouring drinks drugs to numb the victims

The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has developed the operation 'DREAMER' under the 'Plan against burglary' and 'Increased Security Plan', to clarify the commission of a series of robberies and thefts committed in homes elderly people of La Union, which has led to the arrest of his alleged responsible, a neighboring town of administering drugs victims to generate a state of drowsiness and abductions committed with impunity.
Last June, the Meritorious initiated the investigation after detecting the commission of several robberies and thefts in houses of La Union, occupied by elderly and a very peculiar form of action: the victims were drugged with numbing drugs, some events that had generated considerable public alarm in the population.
The first performances were aimed at exposing the modus operandi used by the perpetrators of the robbery and collect all possible clues about them, to clarify the facts.
Administered drugs that numbed victims
To carry out the first steps of his criminal activity was selecting victims among older women of La Union, between 70 and 85 years, which struck up polite conversation to gain their trust.
Once there was a small friendship, the author of the theft, provided with different drugs used for the treatment of diseases of the nervous type, anxiety, etc., accompanying victims to their home where they offered to prepare a drink pouring this class of drugs.
The victims, after consuming the drink, were sleepy and in some cases, reached into oblivion, when they took the opportunity to steal cash and any valuables such as jewelry.
Most victims of theft have had to receive medical treatment for their drug intake and some of them had to be admitted to hospital for treatment centers.
In clinical analyzes to the assisted victims in hospitals have detected traces of drugs used for nervous disorders, anxiety, etc.
The result of the investigations carried out thanks to the cooperation of citizens, the Civil Guard has identified the author of the robberies after being located, has been arrested and brought to justice suspected of committing crimes of burglary, theft violence, theft and against public health, clarifying a dozen crimes.
At the time of the arrest, the policemen seized part of the drugs used against the victims.
The Civil Guard has detected so far, the existence of six victims of criminal activity undertaken by the now arrested, although it is not excluded that there are more older people who have suffered this type of crime.
The detainee, Spanish, 54 and resident of La Union, the effects seized and the proceedings have been brought before the Court of Instruction No. 1 of Cartagena (Murcia), which has decreed the provisional admission to prison.
