The unionense society shows its support for the regeneration project Portman Bay (27/06/2014)

This morning was held at the headquarters of the Yacht Club of Portman, a press conference in which employers and associations in the municipality of La Union have expressed their unanimous support for the draft Regeneration Portman Bay submitted to the Ministry of Environment .

The ceremony was presided over by the President of the Federation of Business and Professional Associations of the Union (FAEPU), Mariano Miranda, President of The Bolarín West Business Park, Hipólito Fuster, President What Bolarín Business Park East, Juan Carlos Rodriguez and President of the Association of Portman, Pedro Vélez, all accompanied by members of their boards of directors, in their capacity as promoters of this initiative.

The manifesto has been read and that is fruit of consensus is literally so:

"The associations of the town of La Union to sign this document, we declare unanimously in reference to the project Feedback Portman Bay, the following:

xpresamos our support for the draft environmental regeneration of Portman Bay, which has been submitted to the Ministry of Environment and involved the complete renovation of the space, provided the historical claim of recovery of the shoreline and original funds existing in 1957, at that discharges from the mining industry began.

anifestamos our support for such actions to take place as soon as possible, because we consider vital to our town and surrounding.

We believe also, that the project will be an important source of wealth and employment in our town, so beset by economic crisis and severe unemployment experienced by many of its neighbors and that the execution of this project, palliate greatly.

We demand that the jobs that are necessary to carry out the regeneration of the Bay, are covered preferably with Labor municipality and companies whose services require equally belong to the municipality of La Union.

e solicited public administrations, which give all possible priority to pending proceedings so that the work can begin as soon as possible, and once initiated, these are carried out in the timeliness and compliance with all legal guarantees will be required, especially environmental.

We call on all political parties, the trade unions, economic and social actors and few institutions generally want to join to this request, to work together to make this great project a reality and is conducted in terms we have discussed and fighting together for the interest of our town and surrounding. "

Also, other local associations have called on their respective boards to express their adherence to the aforementioned manifesto.

This initiative is to date the largest social movement in favor of a project ever undertaken in the history of the Union.
