His Majesty the King received this morning an official hearing at the Zarzuela Palace, an institutional delegation of the City of La Union, formed by our Mayor, and Aldermen of the Municipal Government Team.
The act has been intended to present him to Don Juan Carlos of Gold Medal of the City of La Union and the International Festival del Cante de las Minas, distinctions both that were granted to our Monarch in 2010 during the commemorations of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the municipality and the Golden Jubilee of flamenco event, both events that took place under the honorary presidency of His Majesty.
Francisco Bernabé has expressed it to Chief of emotion and gratitude of the citizens of our town for the honor conferred, besides putting the king in history of the main projects of cultural, tourist and industrial, as the regeneration of Portman Bay , in which the municipality is currently engaged.
In this sense, the Mayor formally invited His Majesty to himself, or by the member of the Royal House designate, a visit to La Union in the near future is made.
Meanwhile, the King expressed his satisfaction and pride in receiving the awards, showing his keen interest in the various initiatives outlined by the Mayor and encouraging the town to fight tirelessly to get them because of their great importance.
Finally, Don Juan Carlos sent through our first mayor and councilors, a sincere hug and best wishes of prosperity for all citizens of the Union, Portman and Roche.
