IU-Greens today accused the Ministry of Environment and the Autonomous Community of announcing the grant to regenerate Portman Bay when it is actually for a mining project by the private sector.
According to the head of the Environment of IU-Greens in the Region, Victoria Rodriguez, the intention of the ministry and the regional government is promoting environmental management project approved, but authorize the exploitation of mineral resources in the area.
Rodriguez has expressed concern that the company that make the farm not get the benefits you expect, since it could be assumed that the public has to pay the losses, "something that has happened in this region" with other projects.
In his view, Portman Bay is the "public face" of one of the biggest ecological disasters and have not been debugged responsibilities in this regard.
