Begin classes in the school of Flemish art under the baton of Estrella Morente (11/01/2014)

The flamboyant director of Flamencology Foundation of Cante de las Minas and the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), the singer Estrella Morente, today officially opened the 2014 academic year at the School of Art Flamenco this institution.

The event took place in a crowded auditorium of Pinion House, Town Hall of La Union, and it has also benefited from the presence of our Mayor and Executive Chairman of the Cante, Francisco Bernabé Foundation Mines UCAM President Jose Luis Mendoza, and School Coordinator, guitarist Carlos Piñana.

Also attended by the artist's husband, the matador Javier Conde, unionense numerous representatives of civil society and the council of the government team, headed by the Deputy Mayor for Culture and Festival Director of Mines, Julio Garcia.

The meeting served to welcome the nearly hundred students who have enrolled in regulated education of singing, dancing, flamenco guitar and percussion Teaching School as well as to introduce the faculty who will be in charge of the teaching and explain the keys to get the most artistic and academic achievement to this educational activity.

In addition, Estrella Morente, very excited at the responsibility it has assumed the direction of the Chair, has expressed great affection he professes to La Union and the Festival del Cante de las Minas from very young, when he went to the same accompanying his father, the late lamented master Enrique Morente, because in his view is the most important event Flemish those held worldwide.

In this regard, he has committed his enthusiasm and dedication to the work that has been tasked with ensuring that's going to be closely monitoring the various initiatives, as well as other currently planned and that will be making public the coming months, which promise to be truly innovative and spectacular.

After the opening, and to the countless expressions of affection of those present, Star has moved to the headquarters of the School, where he attended the first dance class, taught by dancer and choreographer Javier Latorre, national award dance and first winner of our contest flamenco dancing, wishing the best of luck to all participants in the same.
