The sixth edition of the traditional Mountain Race "Union City", which annually organizes the Masters Roller Trail Club in collaboration with our City Council, did not disappoint and broke all expectations of success deposited therein.
A fresh and sunny Sunday morning was the perfect setting for the 300 riders entered in the test exceeded 24 kms.
of demanding course along the mountain mining, with continuous ups and downs that led to drops of about 1600 meters along the route, all of which was a bonus added strength to the intrinsic difficulty of the test itself possessed.
All participants agreed on the strength and beauty of the scenery of the mountains, and the great organization of the event prepared by the Trail Masters Roller Club, and attended by more than 80 volunteers.
The awards ceremony took place next to the finish line in front of the main facade of the Old Public Market and it was attended by our Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, and several Councillors of Municipal Government Team and the President Mountain Federation, Luis Quiros River.
The winners in the major categories were:
Ratings own career: in the men were, Francisco José Díaz 1 Well (Club Roller Masters, 2nd Eduardo Chorda Tur (Roller Club Masters), 3rd Benjamin Gutierrez Cervantes (Roller Club Masters), 4th Francisco Mendoza Guil ( Alhama COYM), 5th Mayor Angel Garcia (Roller Club Masters).
In the female category the winners were: 1st Immaculate Tonda Mena (Cex Cartagena, 2nd Barbara Judith Anton Alfaro (Club South Coast Trail), 3rd Rachel Miras Costa, 4th Maria Belen Lopez Penalver (Sports Network Yecla), 5th Esther Sánchez Pérez (Club Mandarache Cartagena).
The team classification was: Men: 1 Master Roller Mountain Club, 2nd Club Portazgo and 3rd Lane, and Women: Cex Cartagena 1st, 2nd Club Roller Masters and 3rd Club Mandarache Cartagena.
