Historical closing of the centenary of the Christ of the Miners (18/11/2013)

The Union Sunday had a day that will undoubtedly go down in the annals of the history of our city, with the collaboration of the Closing Events Religious Cultural Week with Centennial Reason Arrival in La Union Image of Christ Miners (1913-2013).

The morning began with a procession that was developed through several streets of the city center.

The tour began in Alcocer street, opposite the Red Cross headquarters, where the Christ in his Cross was transferred to the shoulders of his knights portapasos, accompanied by an escort of the local police and the Fire Department of the Region of Murcia.

Upon reaching the front of the House size Pinion, joined the parade the various groups and local entities that were to carry the Crucified relieving along all the way, and the faithful and the authorities attendees.

The procession was headed by the President of the Regional Assembly and Favorite Son La Union, Francisco Celdran, our Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, by the Director General of Culture of the Regional Government, Francisco Gimenez, the Big Brother of the Brotherhood, Sunday Alajarín, and the President of the Association of Christ, Jose Sanchez.

Councillors also attended municipal government team and Deputy unionense, Juan Antonio Sánchez-Castañol

Journalist García Mateos Square, opposite the current home of the local police and the same place where once was located the headquarters of the Union Fire commissioned in 1913 by sculptor carving Gerique Chust José Valencia, there was a emotional memory to the work of that body and a tribute to it.

Subsequently, the Christ Temple moved to Our Lady of the Rosary, which came under the strains of the National Anthem and was placed below the altar presiding.

After the Mass, officiated by our Pastor Ginés Luis Vicente, was held by our Mayor the official appointment of the Christ of the Miners as Favorite Son La Union, all under the thunderous applause and cheers of the hundreds of faithful that filled the church standing positions.

The event closed with the interpretation of the Hymn of Christ by the Band of the musical group The Union.

The two preceding days served to groups of the Brotherhood, on Friday afternoon, and the four guilds of Cartagena (Socorro, California, mako and Risen), headed by their Elder Brothers throughout the day on Saturday, pay tribute and homage to the Lord of Mina on the occasion of having completed his first century of existence.
