The Executive Committee of the Cante de las Minas Foundation has selected a flamenco expert jury, which will be in charge of deciding the winners of the competitions Sing, Guitar, Flamenco Dance and Instrumentalist in the 53rd edition of the Festival.

A group of specialists to elucidate the participants of this year, and is formed by José Manuel Gamboa, leading figure of flamenco in his role as agitator flamenco, Antonio Parra, writer, journalist and flamenco, BA in Philosophy and a PhD in Communication Sciences, John Vergillos, researcher, journalist and National Award in flamenco critics Flamencología, Javier Latorre, dancer, choreographer and National Dance Award and first prize at the International Festival Desplante Cante de las Minas, and Francisco Paredes Rubio, flamenco critic, writer and expert knowledge in mining songs.

As secretary of the jury will Antonio Gomez.

With this choice, the countdown is on for the start of the Festival del Cante de las Minas, specifically, Contests phase, to be held on 7, 8 and 9 August, and the final, 10 August in the Cathedral of Cante.

Hence come the historical winners handing trophies this Festival: Mining Lamp, in the form of singing, Bordon Mining in flamenco guitar; Trophy Desplante in dance and Philo award for best instrumentalist flamenco.

JAVIER ANTONIO GARCÃA EXPÓSITO "Javier Latorre": born in 1963 in Valencia, from childhood begins to take its first steps into the world of dance.

Debuts sixteen years in the National Lyric Company, springboard into 1979 to join the National Ballet of Spain, becoming a soloist under the direction of Antonio Gades and principal dancer with Maria Avila.

After being awarded at the French festival of Avignon, founded with other colleagues in 1988 Ziryab Dance group was choreographer and dancer.

A year later, swept Córdoba Contest with three national awards.

Already in 1990 opens the show 'The Force of Destiny', which presents throughout Europe, and participate as a guest artist Mario Maya in 'Bitter Dialogues'.

ANTONIO PARRA PUJANTE: Born in Murcia in 1954 is a writer, journalist and flamenco.

Degree in Philosophy and a PhD in Communication Sciences, holds today as a professor at the University of Murcia.

He combines his teaching with his work as usual, writing that plasma columns on all sorts of news, journal articles and books on communication, delving into his role as expert in flamenco.

On the other hand, are common and collaborations with the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas, whether in presentations or as jury.

He was also Director of the Festival of La Union for two years, in the early 90s.

WALLS FRANCISCO RUBIO: son of singer Alfonso Paredes "Alfonso Niño" is lavished at an early age in Flemish environments influenced by his father, and knowing firsthand the mining songs of their homeland.

With 17 years and has co-directed the radio program "The singing of the sovereign."

He has served on juries in flamenco festivals and competitions, especially the International Festival del Cante de las Minas.

It also highlights his tireless work as a popularizer and researcher, who has never stopped working to develop until today, with the publication of numerous articles and several books.

JOSÉ MANUEL GAMBOA: Born in Madrid in 1959, BA in Psychology, specializing in Industrial.

However, his professional activity revolves around the Flemish working with newspapers, radio and television co-founder of the magazine being Flemish La Caña.

Juan Vergillos: Born in 1969 in Madrid but adoption Seville, BA in Philosophy and Educational Sciences.

It operates primarily in the world of literature and the world of flamenco acts as communicator from numerous publications.

This work supports the National Prize of Flamenco.

His knowledge of flamenco have led to embark on cultural management as an art director in several flamenco shows.
