Recycling awareness campaign in the village (28/05/2013)

The City of La Union, through the Department of Social Services, in collaboration with Abraham Project, is conducting a campaign to raise public awareness of environmental, through informative talks on recycling.

The campaign is being developed in different areas during the month of May, and is intended to promote the care of our surrounding environment through the use of recycling bins located throughout the city, and also inform the process of reuse is performed with different materials for recycling and its environmental impact.

The presentation of the talks was held at the Home of the Elderly of the Union, which was attended by the Deputy Mayor of the Department of Social Policy, Salvador Martinez, the Councillor for Social Services, Rosa Pagan, and the Councillor for Environment, Fernando Alcaraz.

In addition, other associations such as the Association of Women of La Union and the Social Center of San Gil Slum actively involved in this campaign.

The City Council wants to remind citizens of the Union the importance of proper recycling of our waste, in order to improve the environment.
