The Minister for Universities and Research Company, José Ballesta, inaugurated this morning, together with the Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, the Tradefair Minerals and Fossils of the Sierra Minera of the municipality, which has, from Thursday until today Saturday March 30, in morning and afternoon, with the participation of a total of 47 exhibitors.
The entrance to it is free.
José Ballesta stressed "the importance year after year has been acquiring this fair, to stand as one of the top three nationally, which is a clear example of the significant mining heritage that has the Murcia region."
A surface 1,500 meters are there in the Fair, located in the Old Union Public Market, exhibitors have come from different Spanish mining areas, and even abroad.
The exhibition shows a wide variety of minerals and gemstones, all of which can be purchased by the public.
This year's edition, which expects to exceed the 11,000 visitors of the previous edition, also includes among its activities parallel an exhibition on dinosaurs, specifically these replicas allow understanding the evolution of carnivorous dinosaurs over time and see how a group of them survived, and are made following strict scientific criteria and are reliable in full original dinosaurs in shape, color and anatomical position.
The program of activities also includes the award for best booth, best mineral Sierra and best exposed part and win a valuable mineral among all those attending the Fair.
During the inauguration, also took place on Tribute to the Miner, which this year fell in the person of Juan Perez Ros, 88 years old and worked for several decades in the mines of our Sierra.
The Fair is organized by the Federation of Associations of Entrepreneurs and Professionals Union, in direct collaboration with the City unionense, besides the participation of the Ministry of Universities and Research Company, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Cartagena and Confederation of Organizations of Cartagena (COEC).
