The Autonomous Community assumes municipal tax collection (01/02/2013)

The Tax Agency of the Region of Murcia, under the Ministry of Finance has today assumed the management of Revenue of the City of La Union, led after the sad event and recent death of Antonio Martinez Lopez, who had exercised the work of the municipal tax collector for the past 29 years.

To this end it has signed the corresponding agreement between the Vice President and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Regional Government, Juan Bernal, and our Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, in a ceremony that took place in Murcia and that has meant that, from this date, all arrangements for payments to be made to the City by individuals and companies directly and are taken on an exclusive basis by the region.

The new tax collection offices are located on the ground floor of the building of the old slaughterhouse, located next to the Health Center and the College Herrerías, and open their doors to the public on Monday 4 February.

This year, for the special circumstances coincide, the period for payment of Municipal Tax Motor vehicle (car seal) will occur between February 20 and May 5 next.

The new system will allow Revenue agreed the City save around 100,000 euros a year, since the rates of recovery of the Autonomous Community of 3.5% are under voluntary payment (compared to 5% of the previous contract) and 10% of executive phase medium (as opposed to the existing 20% ​​to date).

Last year the cost of service revenues accounted for the municipality of La Union totaled about 400,000 euros.
