Investment of 3.5 million euros in expanding the health center (17/07/2012)

The project includes the construction of an annex building and rehabilitation of existing health center, "with the goal of creating a larger infrastructure, modern and according to the needs of users of the basic health area of ​​La Union, which serves a population of over 19,000 people and relies on the Health Area II of Cartagena. "

Parker reiterated that the installation of new services such as X-rays and the dental office, "required the development of an action to resize spaces consultation" and to improve accident and emergency area, with the creation, between other issues, an ambulance parking.

The basic health area of ​​La Union has a staff of 48 workers, divided into 10 family physicians, three pediatricians, 10 nurses, a midwife, physiotherapist, social worker, five administrative assistants, two nurses, and two guards , and an accident and emergency service consisting of 4 teams, each divided by a physician, a nurse and a guard, which operates Monday to Saturday from 15:00 hours to 08:00 hours and on Sundays and holidays 24 hours.
