Health invests 2.5 million to expand and reform of the Health Center Union (17/07/2012)

The Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, accompanied by the local mayor, Francisco Bernabé, today visited the redevelopment of the building, now completed, and which comprise the first phase of the project and checked the status of the proceedings being carried out in the old building, which is undergoing a complete rehabilitation.

The project includes the construction of an annex building and rehabilitation of existing health center, "with the goal of creating a larger infrastructure, modern and according to the needs of users of the basic health area of ​​La Union, which serves a population of over 18,000 inhabitants and relies on the Health Area II of Cartagena. "

Parker reiterated that the installation of new services such as X-rays, "required the development of an action to resize spaces consultation" and to improve accident and emergency area, creating, among other things, a ambulance parking.

The basic health area of ​​La Union has 10 family physicians, four pediatricians, 10 nurses, a midwife, physiotherapist, social worker, five Administrative Assistants, two nursing assistants and two guards, and emergency department and emergencies that operates Monday through Saturday from 17:00 hours to 09:00 hours and on Sundays and holidays 24 hours.
