The Cathedral of Cante award is for the U.S.

The Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas de La Unión, which this year celebrates its 52nd edition between 1 and 11 August, has released today its award-winning institutional 2012 and the figures on which rests the condition preacher and author of the poster, in an act that has been attended by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Alberto Cruz, and the mayor of La Union and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Foundation Singing Mine Francisco Barnabas.

On the other hand, Castilletes Gold, the highest distinction of the Festival, have fallen into three immensely popular and respected figures in the field of Spanish culture, with outstanding careers in which has always been the world of flamenco.

The winners this time were the matador Jose Mari Manzanares, film director Bigas Luna and chef José Andrés.

It has been particularly prominent in all the great work they have done promotion of Spanish culture, and therefore Flemish worldwide.

All three have confirmed their presence in La Union this summer to collect personal distinctions.

Marin le Trouvere Award, which aims to recognize the best work of art conservation and promotion of folk verse, has been awarded this year to Juan Tudela Legs, popularly known as "Uncle John Rita," Murcia centenary troubadour who has dedicated his life to defend and popularize the art of sight-reading.

Finally, Carbides Gold awards that reward the work of support, advocacy and promotion carried out in connection with the Festival del Cante de las Minas, have been in this historic occasion for four employees of the contest: the writer and journalist Francisco Sanchez Celdran ( "Paco Icarus"), former festival director Juan Jiménez Alcaraz, president of the circle Cante Minero de Barcelona, ​​Antonio Perez Soto and former contributor to the early decades of the event Ginés Candela Ros.

Exhibition "The Union Mining"
