On the occasion of the view of Minister of Agriculture and Water in the Region of Murcia, Antonio Cerdá Cerdá our municipality has proceeded to the official opening of facilities Zapata Winery, situated in the Place of Mullahs, next to the hall Mayor House celebrations.
Units of Zapata Winery is located on the farm Alfonso XIII, which covers an area of ​​seven hectares, almost entirely occupied by various crops with vines, which includes more than 2,500 strains of class Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shyraz, Malvasia , Tempranillo and Muscat.
The winery produces wines that are red, pink, white and sweet and marc various herbs.
The reference mark to market in the markets is "Wines of La Union. Cante de las Minas."
The winery's annual production is around 15,000 bottles, highlighting among the various types of red wines aged in oak for 6 months (young), 12 months (breeds) and 24 months (reserves).
A unique feature that stands out in the property is the palatial home in 1901 that raised the wealthy mining entrepreneur, Juan Martínez Conesa, and inside which you can see, perfectly preserved, beautiful and decorative architectural applications using the gentry of the time.
Our Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, has congratulated the owner, entrepreneur Ginés Zapata, for the extraordinary effort made to launch the first winery to which the municipality also produces wines and 100% of our native town, meaning well that the complex is already integrated into the beaten track featuring the Union and will be especially followed by the wine industry enthusiasts.
Cerdá Councillor praised both the quality of the wines produced in these wineries, including the important added value of the count and production ecology as much variety as the one here given.
