The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz Sánchez and the Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, have held a meeting at which they discussed various current issues in our municipality.
Main innovation include the grant amount of 140,000 euros to be granted to the municipality to carry out the reconstruction of a typical Café Cantante, in which both proliferated in La Union in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century those born in the songs of the mines.
It is planned to carry out this initiative through the remodeling of a historic building of that time, the old graduate school, current headquarters of the Peńa Flamenca La Union and will be refurbished in its entirety to reconvert into a Café Cantante in which you can enjoy flamenco performances on a permanent basis.
Likewise, the mayor informed the Director the number of visitors who have come this year to the Union during the Cante de las Minas, which has reached the record of 42,000 people in just 2 weeks, and the impact in the media communication that has risen to over 27 million in advertising value, taking into account the impact on print, television, radio and Internet Festival.
