Regeneration of Portman sent to the Council of Ministers (20/07/2011)

In yesterday was referred to the Cabinet on the works tender dossier for Regeneration Portman Bay, a decision that is expected to be adopted as a peak in early August by the Government of the Nation.

This news means that in early 2012 to begin effectively works, although previous work of preparing the Cut San Jose, where the tailings will be deposited in the Bay, probably will start this coming November.

Once work begins within their execution will last around two and a half years, after which it will undertake the construction of the new marina and fishing port planned for the area.

All these announcements were reported yesterday in the heart of the Monitoring Committee for the Regeneration of the Bay of Portman, made by the Ministry of Environment, the Autonomous Region of Murcia and the city of La Union showing all members great satisfaction with the important and definitive steps that are occurring in recent times.

Our mayor, Francisco Bernabé, said that after 21 years of struggle, especially intense in recent times, with plants at the door of his Ministry and confinement in the City Municipal Corporation included, have had their fruit with the announcement of what we had been waiting so long.

It has also added to the regeneration of Portman's future municipality of La Union and the region near Cartagena is guaranteed, as will thousands of jobs that will be generated not only during construction, with an investment environment to 200 million euros, but especially with the later development of high quality tourism to be developed with the construction of hotels and the new marina.
