The PSOE de La Union calls for the resignation of the sports council for "recklessness and reckless" with the use of heated pool (14/10/2010)

The PSOE de La Union calls for the immediate resignation of the Councillor for Sports, Julio Garcia, for allowing the opening of the swimming pool without stating the mandatory report of the Directorate General of Public Health, as required by current legislation on the conditions health and hygiene of public swimming pools in the Region of Murcia.

The Municipal Socialist Group spokesperson, Mariano Oliver said that in the last plenary session on October 5, the Socialist councilors asked the mayor, Francisco Bernabé, if he had obtained the approval of the Directorate General of Public Health to open the infrastructure, to what went unanswered.

Report

Thus, as Oliver said, the day after the mayors of the PSOE sought to the Ayuntamiento to access the report, something that could not be, claiming officials there was no such document and urging the first deputy mayor, Carlos Javier Martínez , to request in writing, a procedure that has already taken place.

For the Socialist spokesman "if the report existed, would have had no problem in teaching, which leads us to think, or that the pool has been open to the public without obtaining the approval of the Directorate General of Public Health, or that the report issued in this respect refers to the existence of deficiencies that have not been corrected. "

Oliver said the report by the Directorate General of Public Health is prior to the opening and its issuance is mandatory, according to Decree No 58/1992, of May 28, so the attitude of the Councillor for Sports is "reckless and recklessness in allowing use by users without guarantees of their sanitary conditions, and further, to authorize the restroom during the open house, knowing he had no medical clearance. "

Further alleged that Oliver does not appear that the personnel providing services in the pool has been informed and educated of the health risks involving the products handled in the sports facility, nor any of them is in possession of the course credited to act as caretaker and maintenance man for collective use pools issued by the Directorate General of Health.

"We regret that after three and a half years have been slow to open these facilities, do so under these conditions and without all the safeguards required by law," he concluded.
