The delegate of the Government and the Mayor of the Union inaugurated the new Museum of Cante de las Minas (30/07/2010)

The two works have involved an investment of the Government of Spain for 300,000 euros thanks to the E Plan

The Government of Spain has invested 2.2 million euros in tourism development in the Sierra Minera and the Festival del Cante de las Minas

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, and the Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, inaugurated this morning the refurbishment and rehabilitation of the Old Public Market and the new Museo del Cante de las Minas.

Both actions have been funded in full by the State Fund of 2010 launched by the Government of Spain for the revitalization of economic activity and job creation.

In particular, it has invested in the two works have generated 300,000 euros and 15 direct jobs.

The new Museo del Cante de las Minas is located in Pinon House, listed as a Cultural, which have carried out various works of adaptation and refurbishment of walls, ceiling, new wiring, and air conditioning.

It has also enabled a new access from the lobby.

The new facilities are ready for audiovisual presentations, models, and conference rooms.

The works have cost 200,800 euros and created 12 jobs.

Also, Deputy Mayor and inaugurated the new renovation and improvement of the municipality BIC another building, the Old Public Market, home of the National Festival del Cante de las Minas.

The works have involved the comprehensive fitness spaces for toilets and improved access to them, with reforms in flooring, carpentry, electrical and general painting and acting to repair the windows of the north facade and maintenance of building facades in the Old Market.

The cost of the work has been of 99,700 euros and has created three jobs.

González Tovar explained that the City of La Union has received state funding in 2009 and 2010 a total of 4,764,565 euros are being invested to fund 25 construction projects and 4 municipal spending programs on social policies.

These projects are expected to create a total of 240 jobs and also finance some 6,500 social actions in aid for the maintenance of schools, an additional social support program, the home help service and support program for acquisition textbook.

Finally, the delegate expressed his satisfaction with the high compliance of the commitments made by President Zapatero through state funding has already been entered in the accounts of the municipalities in the region 309 million euros from 400 million allocated.

Specifically, in the municipality of La Union, the Government of Spain has paid one hundred per cent of 8 of the 10 projects in 2009 and has also admitted 85 percent of 16 projects submitted in 2010.

2.2 million euros for tourism development in the Sierra Minera and the Festival del Cante de las Minas

The Government delegate explained that the Government of Spain, since 2004, 2,232,638 euros has been invested in tourism development in the Sierra Minera and the International Festival of Cante de las Minas.

In this regard, he recalled that the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade has invested 600,000 euros in the Tourism Promotion Plan "Sierra Minera".

He added in a complementary manner other additional € 200,000 in the recovery of Paul and Virginia mine.

Also, on the other hand, State Funds, 2009 and 2010 funded by the Ministry of Planning Policy, have invested in various activities related to tourism development in the Sierra Minera and the Festival del Cante de las Minas, as the two today have opened, as well as various measures in the mine remunerated for their rehabilitation (200,000 euros) and the provision of access to it and its museological (120,000 euros), or the new Museum of Ethnology Roche (150,000 euros).

On the other hand, has reported that the Ministry of Culture has allocated 128,700 euros this year the Festival Nacional del Cante de las Minas, the greater of those provided by public administrations.

In addition, the state's economic cooperation has grown significantly over the past three years, rising in the period 2004-2010 to 662,000 euros.
