The Mining Park opened to the public (27/07/2010)

The Mining Park of La Union, acting pioneer in the recovery of historical heritage to its value as an attractive tourist and cultural nature, is open to the public from today.

With a total of 50,000 square meters, the Mining Park has resulted in the recovery of a total of eight former mining sites of the nineteenth century that will see "in situ" as they lived and worked for former miners of the Sierra de Cartagena - La Unión.

The park includes the rehabilitation and musealization of Road 33, a kiln, a few magazines, a vein of tin ore in a laundry, a raft of sludge from the mine "Paul and Virginia", in which has acted outside its facilities, and spectacular mine "Group Vicenta" undoubtedly one of the most powerful attraction to those who will have the Region of Murcia.

Note that in the meeting held last week by the Sierra Minera Tourist Consortium set out the final price which will govern for the visit to the Parque Minero.

The rates are as follows:

General fee

Adults - 10 €

Students, pensioners and children (5-14 years) - 6.5 €

Under 5 years - 1 €

Large families

Adults - 6.5 €

Children (5 to 14 years) - 4 €

Groups (minimum 15 people)

Adults - 7.5 €

Students, pensioners and children (5 to 14 years) - 5 €

Due to the high demand for applications until August 3, you can only visit the Parque Minero previously reserved on the phone 902 520 014.

Park Information Mining

Mineral Park has a whole new website (www.parqueminerodelaunion.es).

In the official website of the park you can find information about the sites and attractions of the park, the Sierra Minera, relevant information (reservations, fares, schedules and contact mode), links, news, downloads.

The reserve for the visit can be made online at the official website of Mining Park, phone 902 520 014 and via e-mail reservas@parqueminerodelaunion.es.

Mineral Park will be open from 10:00 to 14:00, and 17:00 to 20:30 (Tuesday to Saturday) and Sunday from 10:00 to 14:00.

There is also the possibility of a combined visit to the Mining Park Interpretation Centre next to Mina to the Matildas and Environmental Park Garden Pio.

Official opening of the Parque Minero

The Mining Park, officially launched this month by the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, the Mayor of La Union, Francisco Barnabas, and the government representative, Rafael González Tovar, has meant an investment of nearly three and a half million euros, which have been paid between the municipalities of La Union and Cartagena, the Autonomous Community of Murcia, through the concerted action of four different Ministries, highlighting the special support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to the project , and the Government of Spain, through the participation of two different ministries.
