The acaldes of the region of Cartagena and Mar Menor meet in the union to work together (27/02/2017)

The Mayor of La Union has stressed the importance of joining forces to improve the quality of life of citizens and has once again vindicated his struggle for the Portman Bay Regeneration project.

This morning, the Mayors of La Unión, Cartagena, Fuente Álamo, Torre Pacheco and the first Lieutenant Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar met at La Unión City Council, in what was the first contact of a series of meetings in Which will begin to work jointly on matters common to these Municipalities.

The Mayor of La Unión, Pedro López Milan, has described the meeting as historic, since, according to the first mayor, all the municipalities that make up the arch of Cartagena and Mar Menor, must go hand in hand in matters such as tourism, Environment, security, among others, that taking advantage of the resources that each has can be offered to citizens to improve the quality of services that are provided to users of them.

The Mayor has also made reference to the Portman Bay Regeneration Project, in which he has emphasized the importance of providing the budget with enough money to undertake a work of special importance for the entire Region.

In these statements, Lopez Milan, has been very demanding with this subject, demanding to the Central Government that for this year the investment in Portman should be ten million euros.

He also spoke about the importance of the Sierra Minera and a common tourism project that should be La Union and Cartagena.
