Miralles: "Water is life and our Region needs it so we do not become a desert" (15/12/2018)

Criticizes "the irresponsibility and discretion of the PSOE that changes the policy of water for the benefit of the communities where it governs, and the rivers do not end with the territorial delimitation"

The General Secretary of the Popular Party of the Region of Murcia, Miguel Ángel Miralles, attended this Saturday the traditional Christmas lunch celebrated by the PP of the Union, where he affirmed before more than 400 members and popular supporters that "Spain and the Region of Murcia need a global solution to the problem of drought and the lack of water resources that we suffer. "

For this reason, it has opted for a global solution that "guarantees the water equality of the region of Cartagena, the Region and all Spaniards, a fair national water policy for all territories."

Miralles has claimed, during his speech, "a National Water Pact, in which we agree all the autonomous communities governed by the PP and in which we invite to participate to the rest of political formations, as defends our national president, Pablo Casado. "

At this point, he stressed that "water is life and in the Region we need it because if we do not have water we will become, sooner rather than later, a desert area".

"The Popular Party is a national, constitutionalist party that looks after the interests of each and every one of the Spaniards, wherever they live, and that is why we defend the needs of all the territories, all the basins, surpluses and deficit, "said Miguel Angel Miralles, to highlight that" in the Cuenca del Segura suffer a structural deficit no matter what the PSOE denies ":" We do not say it, are statements made by technicians, "he stressed.

In this sense, he has criticized "the irresponsibility and discretionality of the PSOE that changes the policy of water for the benefit of the communities where it governs, and the rivers do not end with the territorial delimitation, which in his opinion" makes that in water matters continue with its policy of punishment to the Region certified by the denial of the transfer of November for irrigation, contemplated in the Memorandum and that unilaterally decided to suppress it. "" A transfer that corresponded to us by law, a rule that has been harmed seriously damaging to our irrigators and farmers who have stolen 12.5 cubic hectometres of water. "

Manrubia: "Portman, a project tendered and awarded more than two years ago by the PP and the PSOE has slowed down due to lack of political will"

For its part, the candidate for mayor of La Union, Sofia Manrubia, has detailed the urgent need for a political change in the local council to "make this municipality once again a regional reference in illusion, investment and management for the benefit of the unionenses, as it has always happened when the PP has governed ".

He has also detailed, among the important projects for the Union, the regeneration of the Bay of Portman that "the government of the PSOE has restrained exclusively for its lack of political will to carry it out."

In this regard, he affirmed that "the Popular Party is the only formation that has bet for the cleanliness of the Bay, demonstrating it with facts through the tender, award and start of the works more than two years ago".
