Begin the selection tests of the competitions of the Festival with more involvement of history (17/05/2010)

Selective tests of the competitions in voice, guitar and Flamenco Dance International Festival del Cante de las Minas will start next Saturday in Madrid with the celebration of the first one in the center of contemporary Matadero Madrid.

Notably, the result of the agreement signed by the Mayor of La Union, Francisco Barnabas, and the Director General of La Manga Club, Julio Delgado, the Hotel Principe Felipe resort based in Los Belones, Cartagena, is one of the sites selective tests of the competitions of the Festival del Cante de Las Minas.

A total of 143 artists have registered to take part in these test basis which is a record of participation in the Festival's history.

In singing highlights the presence of young singers of Cordoba, Seville and Granada.

It is also worth mentioning the inclusion of a singer from Huelva, a resident of Sevilla, just 13 years, and a German singer.

Moreover, three guitarists in Canada, Mexico and France have completed their registration in the selection tests of the Festival, which demonstrates the universality of the flamenco and the great interest in the Festival of La Union.

Regarding the dance form is prevalent in youth and talent, four Japanese dancers (two of them settled in Sevilla and two in Tokyo) will take part in the selection tests of the Festival.

Twelve tests are planned selective distributed to the following timetable:

Madrid: Saturday 22

Cornella (Barcelona): Friday 28

JUNE

Granada: Friday 18 and Saturday 19

Murcia: Friday 25

Getafe (Madrid): Saturday 26

Burriana (Castellón): Saturday 26

Valladolid: Sunday 27

JULY

La Manga Club (Los Belones - Cartagena): Thursday 1
